I desired to build my upper body strength and having tried a 6kg power club I felt an 8kg would be manageable. It is a good weight for two handed exercises when you are first starting and as you get used to it you get used to the one handed exercises. But for beginners with lower core and upper body strength this is a little to heavy to do some of the motions. However I rate this highly as a good versitile weight which should suit most people.
